I was formally trained in the science of measurement (Metrology), and spent 4 years in the the service on active duty. As a metrologist, I spent almost a year as an Army Contractor in Iraq, and moved to the Medical Device and then to Pharmaceuticals. There is a movement in place to create a National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and 15 states have already signed up. However, simply using a Popular Vote method would not eliminate any fear of vote-splitting. It is known that the Ranked Choice Voting method has gained major traction nationwide at the state and local levels, and it is believed that only RCV has a federal plan in the works to create a National Ranked Choice Voting Interstate Compact to break the duopoly and eliminate some of our current issues. With this being said, it is also clear RCV is not without its flaws. Is RCV/NRCV your preferred alternative to the current First-Past-The-Post system? If it is not, would you still be willing to use the groundswell in place that has been built around RCV to create and establish NRCV, which can then be used as a stepping stone for progressively better voting systems once better candidates are elected and not beholden to The Establishment?
